Buachaille Etive Mòr is probably the most photographed mountain in Scotland. It towers over Rannoch Moor & Glen Etive earning it’s name as the “Great Herdsman of Etive“. The views are even better from the summit.
2 Munro’s: Stob Dearg (1022m) & Stob na Bròige (956m)
This route is suited for anyone with a few easier Munros under your belt. It’s a steep ascent from the start with some very minor scrambling towards the top of the coire. It’s then a short ascent to the summit of Stob Dearg with (hopefully!) epic views over Rannoch Moor & Glen Etive.
We then backtrack down to the bealach and ascend to Stob na Bròige. Another backtrack takes us off the hill with some mild down scrambling of large slabs. We walk out through Lairig Gartain then along the road back to the car park. The Kingshouse Hotel is only a few miles away for a well earned drink and/or food before heading home.
