About Trev

Mountain Leader / Mountain Guide

I’m Trev and I’ll be your walking buddy / guide for the day. Here’s a little about me:

I got into hiking, camping & climbing at a young age. However, the outdoors took a backseat due to breaking my ankle while at Aberdeen University. I spent the next 20+ years designing & building software systems in Aberdeen then Edinburgh.

After a surgery I got back into hillwalking and spent many weekends travelling to the Highlands to bag Munros. Around 2019, I decided that life was too short to spend so much time behind a desk, so I converted a campervan and travelled for a few years.

My life is now a balance of mountain guiding, freelance software & travel. I swap the cold Scottish winters for exploring Europe in my campervan, mainly in the south of Spain. When travelling in Europe, I dabble in hiking, via ferrata and sampling local food & red wine.

I enjoy the health, fitness & wellbeing aspect of the outdoors. I’m slowly working my way through the Munros and enjoy the challenge of multi-Munro routes with wild camps.

Most of my clients are from overseas so I’ve had the pleasure of walking with visitors from all over the world. I love walking and chatting with people from different countries. People tend to end the day feeling like they’ve walked with a local hiking buddy!

I frequently hike with solo females and active over 60s. Hopefully my reviews attest to fun & safe hiking experience.
