Glencoe Hiking Tour Itinerary

Here’s an example Glencoe Hiking Tour itinerary. Driving time is 1.5-2 hours. An hour for lunch & coffee stops gives us around 5 hours of hiking (14.5km / 9 miles).

  • I’ll collect you from your accommodation at 8:30am in Fort William and drive down the rugged West Coast to Glencoe.

  • If you’re staying in / around Glencoe then I’ll collect you closer to 9:00am.

  • We’ll drive to The Three Sisters viewpoint for our first hike to the secluded Hidden Valley [2.5 hours / 4km / 2.5 miles].

  • Afterwards, we’ll visit the traditional Clachaig Inn for lunch via the scenic route past Signal Rock [15 minutes / 1 km / 0.6 miles].

  • We’ll then drive to Glencoe Lochan with fantastic views to the Pap of Glencoe amidst towering trees [45 minutes / 3 km / 1.8 miles].

  • Afterwards, we can visit the Glencoe Farm Shop & Café for a coffee from Inverness Coffee Roasters.

  • Our next stop is Ballachulish quarry & the Brecklet forest trail. This passes Stiff Peaks, arguably the best patisserie in Scotland [1 hour+ / 3.5km / 2.2 miles].

  • On the route back to Fort William, if there’s time, you can finish the day with a visit to Inchree Falls [30 minutes / 2 km / 1.3 miles].

Please note that some eateries aren’t open every day, so we need to be flexible.

Note that The Hidden Valley hike has some tricky terrain and 380m / 1,247 feet of ascent, so it’s not suitable for everyone. Also, it needs to be done first thing due to parking limitations.

  • Glencoe tours last around 8 hours, usually 8:30am to 4:30pm but we can be flexible.
