12km + 1460m

The Three Sisters
The Three Sisters of Glen Coe is one of the finest mountain walks in Scotland. There’s an initial steep climb to 750m where it flattens at the impressive Toaster Rack.
Next is a mild scramble to Stob Coire nan Lochan at 1115m. A small down & up takes you to the main Munro, Bidean nam Bian, the highest mountain in Glencoe at 1150m.
A short ridge walk and ascent takes you to the second Munro, Stob Coire Sgreamhach at 1072m. This can be skipped for a shorter day.
Finally, descend the steep scree chute to The Hidden Valley and walk down through the forested path back to the car park.
Duration: 6-8 hours
Buachaille Etive Mòr
14km + 1245m
2 Munros
The “Buckle“ is the most photographed mountain in Scotland. It’s imposing stature gives it the name “The Great Herdsman of Etive“.
From the car park it’s a taxing ascent to the saddle (bealach) at 900m. You then ascend the spur to the summit of Stob Dearg at 1022m. The views out towards Rannoch Moor are fantastic.
It’s then back down to the saddle and a 3km ridge walk to the second Munro, Stob na Bròige at 956m. A short backtrack and a steep decent takes you to Lairig Gartain. Finally, a valley walk back to the car park.
There are a few options to shorten the day on this route.
Duration: 5-7 hours
Pap of Glencoe
8km + 735m
The Pap of Glencoe is the prominent lump in the backdrop of Glencoe’s landscape. It looks unclimbable, but it is! There’s a bit of a scramble to get to the top but the views are phenomenal.
It’s known locally as Sgòrr na Cìch which translates to rocky peak of the breast, hence the anglicised name Pap of Glencoe.
This route can be extended to summit the Munro of Sgòrr nam Fiannaidh making it a full day.
Duration: 2-3 hours (half day)
Easy Glencoe Walks
Not everyone has the fitness or inclination for full day’s walking up a steep mountain. There are a few shorter walks in Glen Coe that are less involved, but you still have a great experience & fantastic views.
I can package up a few short, low-level walks in Glen Coe to make a full day and optionally add lunch at a local restaurant or café.
Lost / Hidden Valley Glen Coe
5km + 500m
The Lost Valley of Glen Coe is a fantastic forested gorge walk. It’s where the MacDonald Clan hid their rustled cattle. It’s a large flat valley, called Coire Gabhail, which is hidden from view from the road.
The route is mainly path, but there are a few tricky rock slabs, river crossings and a metal ladder to keep it interesting.
Duration: 2.5-3.5 hours (half day)
Meall a' Bhùiridh via Glencoe Chair Lift
4.5km + 430m
1 Munro
The Access chairlift at Glencoe Mountain takes you to 678m, leaving a short 430m ascent to the summit. At the bottom, you can visit the White Corries cafe. Alternatively, you can visit the up-market Kingshouse Hotel which is only 1.5 miles away.
This route can be extended to a full day to also summit Creise. The distance increases to 8.5km and the ascent to 785m. The terrain gets a little more advanced with a short ridge walk connecting the two.
Chairlift passes are not included.
Duration: 3-5 hours (half day)
